Alick Zhang
Rehabilitation Assistant
About Alick
Alick completed his Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma in 2022 and quickly discovered that home health is where he can make the greatest impact. He thrives on seeing clients get a little stronger each week while building relationships that motivate lasting change. Outside of work, you’ll find him lifting weights, dabbling in mixed-martial arts, hiking local trails, learning piano, battling it out in competitive video games, scouting new food spots—and giving every cat he meets some well-deserved attention.
Specialty
• Translating physiotherapist and occupational therapist plans into clear, confidence-building sessions at home and in hospital step-down care
• Strength, balance, and mobility programs for older adults and post-surgical clients
• Patient education that turns small wins into long-term habits
• Support in English and conversational Cantonese
Experience
Alick earned his Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma from Capilano University in 2022. He first joined Vancouver Coastal Health’s Home Health team, travelling to clients’ homes across Vancouver to deliver individualized exercise programs and coordinate adaptive equipment. Later, he broadened his skills in the high-pace environment of Burnaby Hospital’s emergency department, collaborating with nurses and physicians to mobilize patients safely and speed discharge planning. The contrast confirmed his passion for community rehab, where he now focuses on helping clients regain independence in their own spaces.
